When to Repot
Most plants need to be repotted every 1-2 years. The best time to repot is in the spring. Signs that your plant is ready for a new home include:
- Roots growing out of the drainage holes.
- Water running straight through the pot without being absorbed.
- The plant is top-heavy and easily tips over.
- Slowed or stunted growth.
How to Repot
Choose a new pot that is only 1-2 inches larger in diameter than the current one. Gently remove the plant from its old pot. Loosen the roots a bit if they are tightly bound. Add a layer of fresh potting mix to the new pot, place the plant in, and fill in the sides with more soil. Water thoroughly and place it back in its happy spot!
