Seasonal Plant Care Guide

Adapt your plant care routine throughout the year to keep your plants thriving in every season.

Plants throughout the seasons.

Spring Care

Spring is growth season! Increase watering as days lengthen. Resume fertilizing with half-strength fertilizer. This is the ideal time for repotting plants that have outgrown their containers. Prune back any leggy growth from winter. Check for pest activity as temperatures rise.

Summer Care

Water more frequently as plants grow actively. Protect plants from intense afternoon sun - move them back from south-facing windows or add sheer curtains. Watch for heat stress and increase humidity if needed. Continue regular fertilizing. Monitor soil moisture closely during hot spells.

Fall Care

Gradually reduce watering as growth slows. Stop fertilizing by mid-fall to allow plants to prepare for dormancy. Bring any outdoor plants inside before temperatures drop below 50°F. Check plants thoroughly for pests before bringing them indoors. Clean windows to maximize winter light.

Winter Care

Water sparingly - most plants need much less water in winter. Stop fertilizing completely. Move plants away from cold drafts and heating vents. Increase humidity to combat dry indoor air. Accept that some leaf drop is normal. Avoid repotting during dormancy unless absolutely necessary.
